Evaluation & Health and safety
This project has been a real challenge. I do not have a desktop computer at home I use an ipad. This is because I have had a lot of trouble with wrist dislocations and repetitive strain injury. An ipad is not suitable for this project, well at least not for me, because I found that my tendency to shake caused me to lose things on the touch screen and not be able to build the site with the accuracy I needed. As a result I have had to attend college to build the site. This has had its difficulties too: library closures through lack of staff, noisy students, lack of internet.
I find I am not really very au fe with software; the jargon of spacers, buttons and dividers has meant little to me. I found that I lost almost as much as I created and had to re-write, just because I didn't know when to save and when not to. I also needed to learn how to use other programmes and general use of internet, hardware, software protocols. All in all the experience has been stressful. It has however been a learning curve with some interesting pauses along the way like acquainting myself with Paint and Publisher. I had a lot of trouble with my manipulation of an image and was very unhappy with my first, second and third attempts. Then before I could complete the title page I dropped my phone down the toilet and had to wait for it to dry out to get the images I wanted to manipulate. What I did in the end was to take a photo of one of my paintings, copy into paint, crop and change the colour values. I then used the images of the artists which I had tried to make look like polaroid photos.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the reading and research aspect. I also enjoyed having an alter ego. This is something I shall adopt if I decide to publish or exhibit in the future. Most of all I have found that people are very kind and helpful, all you have to do is ask and someone with more skill and knowledge will be able to sort something out. Many thanks to all those who stopped me pulling my hair out during the making of this website, those who offered sweets and those who provided ear defenders.

Health and Safety : Good Practice
- do not have food and drink near to the computer, it is unhygienic and spillages can cause electrical problems
- take regular short breaks to avoid eye strain
- make sure your chair, screen and keyboard are at the correct angle for your posture
- be aware of where wires are: they are a tripping hazard
- take care to use none sensational language to search for images to avoid sites with violent or sexual content
- please be aware that others might be working in the same space and might need to concentrate
